I have only just discovered Circle. Its hard to describe them but I find their extremely varied back catalogue really exciting.
They appear to have two personas. One live and one studio based.
Live they are easier to describe. Kraut/Prog/Psych/Heavy rock is what they peddle live. Its wonderfully original whilst wearing its influences proudly. There are moments of early Amon Duul II, Judas Priest, The Grateful Dead and even Opeth. They enjoy performing hypnotic, drawn out songs with monotonous, motorik riffs. If this sounds like your thing then believe me these guys are amongst the best at what they do.
Then there are their studio efforts. Whilst you get the same as their live offerings the exploration in the studio is off the charts! They have gone in every direction imaginable. If you like highly creative bands that confound you with bizarre releases just as you think you have them nailed then Circle must surely win a place in your collection!
This live album is a great place to start and contains one of my fave songs so far - Rakautta al Dente.
I highly recommend this band! Circle are contenders for discovery of the year. Double thumbs up! Crinklechips

Medicine is one of the most hauntingly beautiful albums I've ever had to privilege to hear. It helped me get more in touch with my own self, spirituality and nature. It certainly lives up to its name. The flutes, drumming and percussion are just wonderful. This is a great album to let play all the way through. pimblycharles
